| The Chapter has also organized many fly-outs to such places including Kentucky Lake, Murfreesboro, KY, the Kalamazoo Air Zoo, Rough River, Rantoul, French Lick, Casey, Mattoon, Decatur, Columbus, Eagle Creek, Mount Comfort, Sporty's, Hendricks County, Shades State Park, Rochester, Seymour, Wilson's Last Resort, Lee Bottom's, Salem, Huntingburg, New Albany/Clark County, Clinton, Lincoln Trails State Park, and the Indianapolis Air Route Traffic Control Center. |
| Over the years, aircraft owned by chapter members included several Aeronca Chiefs and Champs, Cessna 170's, Luscombes, Ercoupes, Piper Cherokees, Dakotas, Comanches, Pacers and Tripacers, Wacos, Cessna 172's and 182's, Taylorcrafts, Citabrias, Bonanzas, Mooneys, and RV 6's, and at least one of the following: Piper Clipper, J-3, J-4, J-5, Colt, Vagabond, Cruiser, Warrior, Archer, Arrow, and Cherokee 6, Cessna 120, 140, 150, 175, and 185, Sonerai II, Thorpe T-18, Flybaby, Flutterbug, Eaglet, Emeraude, Pietenpol, Varieze and Longeze, Quickie, EAA Biplane, Midget Mustang, and Mustang II, Smith Miniplane, Pitts S2S, Cuby, L-5 and 108 Stinsons, Whitman Headwind, RV 3 and 4, Glasair, KitFox, Zenith, Super Decathlon, Spacewalker, Dragonfly, Challenger, Pietenpol Air Camper, Velocity, Robinson R-22, Grumman Tiger, Traveler, and Cheetah, and the famous Woody Pusher. |
| As you can see, Chapter 83 has had a rich history of aviation and homebuilding, and that tradition continues today with at least 4 members involved in experimental aircraft building and about 60 aircraft owned by chapter members. |
